Ben Thornhill
Owner/Operations Manager
Ben is the guy behind it all. A true Whistler local, he was born and raised between Whistler and Vancouver, primarily with 2 skis on his feet. His love for Whistler is infectious and he operates Outpost from a place of true passion for the mountains, lifestyle and community. Ben’s an avid golfer and can be found at Nicklaus North golf course, teeing off bright and early. When he’s not doing it all, he’s enjoying a local craft beer (likely Coast Mountain Brewing!) on a sunny patio.
Sarah Thornhill
Owner/Founder
Sarah is full of beans... literally! Her love for coffee is second only to her family; her two baby boys, dog and husband. She started Outpost because she is passionate about creating an elevated Whistler experience for our guests.
Emlyn Grubb
Business Development Manager
Emlyn is proud of his Welsh heritage, but the inexcusably constant rain and drive for adventure led him to explore the world. Being a thrill seeker, he trained as a snowboard instructor in Switzerland and divemaster in Indonesia. Emlyn comes from a background of operations and sales management of large teams for luxury ski chalet companies in France & Austria. During his years in European ski resorts, Emlyn's financial acumen shone through as he worked as an Area Accountant, overseeing the finances of multiple ski resorts. His prior experience in construction in Wales has allowed him to excel in project management of maintenance and renovations in homes. Emlyn is dedicated to being an industry leader in business and takes pride in ensuring Outpost delivers our best in class product to our owners.
Kristína Batmendijnová
Reservations/Revenue Manager
Kristina moved to Canada from Slovakia and has called it home for 4 years. She has been with Outpost from day one, and has loved being a part of the journey. Krisitina is passionate about rock climbing and everything outdoors and is a great source for local outdoor tips!
Jenna Hollis
Marketing Manager
In 2022, we welcomed Jenna to the Outpost team as our Marketing Manager, boasting seven years of industry experience. Originally from the UK, Jenna was drawn to the beauty of Whistler. When she's not crafting marketing magic, she can be found exploring the mountains. Armed with her trusty snowboard or hiking boots, and always with her camera in hand. Marlee Corra
Owner Relations Manager
Marlee is originally from Comox on “The Island” and brings 17 years of Hospitality experience with her to Outpost. She enjoys building relationships with our home owners to give them the best experience possible. Outside of work, Marlee leads an active lifestyle and is a great resource for advice on hiking and biking trails.
Melanie Munroe

Hello, I’m Melanie, and I’m delighted to have the opportunity to work with you. With over five years of experience in luxury hospitality, I specialize in guest experience, with my focus being Telecommunications and Food and Beverage services. My goal is to ensure that your needs are met with the highest level of excellence and attention to detail. Outside of work, I enjoy hiking, paddleboarding, and exploring the natural beauty of British Columbia. I look forward to bringing my expertise and enthusiasm to Outpost and creating exceptional experiences for you.

Outside of work, I'm an avid outdoors enthusiast—whether I'm camping under the stars or tackling rugged trails on my mountain bike, I find joy in nature's challenges. Balancing my professional drive with my love for adventure, I strive to bring the same dedication and enthusiasm to all aspects of my life.
Daniela Olguin
Housekeeping Manager
Daniela is originally from Chile and arrived in Canada 6 years ago. Her days off are spent backcountry snowboarding and enjoying the outdoors. After travelling around Central America, she found herself back at ‘home’ in Whistler.
Kelly Overstreet
Accounting Specialist
An American in Canada, Kelly was born and raised in New York. She has met a lot of wonderful people after 15 years working for Hyatt Hotels Corporation all over the U.S. Relocating to Whistler to raise a family, Kelly adores our mountain town and enjoys sharing her love for it with guests.
Kylee Bowen
Reservations Agent
Kylee moved to Whistler from Ontario in pursuit of British Columbia’s landscape and active lifestyle. She believes that it’s the community of amazing people in Whistler that really make this place home. In Summer, you’ll find her cruising around Alta Lake at sunset on her sailboat with her husband, son and dog.
Meg Hester
Onboarding Specialist
Meg is another Brit in our team who moved to Whistler chasing the good mountain life. She quickly fell in love with our little mountain town, spending her free time exploring the sea to sky corridor. In Summer, she loves nothing better than being by the lake with friends; jumping in, floating the River of Golden Dreams and watching the sun go down from the dock.
Andrea Valovičová
Inventory Specialist
Andrea was born and raised in Slovakia, and has called Whistler home since 2014. She enjoys immersing herself in nature, whether it be skiing, hiking, mountain biking or paddle boarding, and loves to end the day relaxing by a campfire. If you love Italian food, she recommends Quattro “for the best mushroom pasta in town!”
Tomas Alfaro Pino
Property Inspector Supervisor
Tomas, originally from Chile, came to Whistler fueled with a passion for mountain biking. On his days off, you can find him in Pizza Antico during happy hour, with a craft beer in one hand and a pizza slice in the other! He loves Whistler for its countless activities through all the seasons.
Lois Blunt
Housekeeper
Lois recently joined us from England, chasing the Canadian mountains after Winter seasons in the French alps. She adores all that mountain life has to offer, specifically the luxury of being able to ski so often. Her perfect Whistler day is skiing with friends in fresh powder, followed by pizza and craft beer at Handlebar and an apres spot with live music.
